Terms of Service

Acceptance

By using Keed, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of service

Keed is a mobile application that allows parents to control and monitor their children's YouTube video watching by curating approved channels and setting daily time limits. Keed runs entirely on your device โ€” no account is required and no data is sent to our servers.

The app offers two modes of access to YouTube data:

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Keed. By using the app, you represent that you are a parent or legal guardian of any children for whom you create profiles.

YouTube connection (optional)

You may optionally connect your Google account to authorize Keed to access the YouTube Data API with youtube.readonly scope. This allows the app to search channels and fetch video metadata using your account's quota. You may disconnect at any time from the parent dashboard or revoke access via your Google Account settings. Disconnecting reverts the app to the limited (API key) mode.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Parental responsibility

Keed provides tools to help manage screen time and content, but it is not a substitute for parental supervision. You are solely responsible for monitoring your children's app usage and ensuring the content they access is age-appropriate. Keed makes a best-effort attempt to filter content through channel-level curation but cannot guarantee that every video from an approved channel is suitable.

YouTube content and API usage

Keed interfaces with YouTube's Data API and Web Player. All video content is hosted by and subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. Keed does not host, modify, or control YouTube video content. We use channel-level allowlisting to determine which content is accessible, but individual video content may vary within a channel.

API quota. The YouTube Data API operates under a daily quota. By connecting your Google account, Keed uses your account's quota to make API requests, which allocates more resources for your searches. If you do not connect an account, Keed uses a shared API key and search functionality is limited to 5 channel searches per day. Existing approved channels and all other app features continue to function regardless of quota usage.

Intellectual property

The Keed name, logo, and app design are our intellectual property. You may not use them without permission. The app itself is licensed, not sold, to you.

Limitation of liability

Keed is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to incidental or consequential damages.

Termination

We may suspend your access to the app if you violate these terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. All local data will be removed when you uninstall.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
